Staying Afloat

Life is a journey — a classroom filled with lessons, highs, and lows. Some days feel lighter than others. But the real key is how we respond to the difficult days.
There are times when everything seems to go wrong, when nothing makes sense. And then, there are days when we feel like we're on top of the world — unstoppable and full of joy. It's those joyful moments we must hold onto and remember when the hard days come.
The truth is, life isn’t perfect. It comes with challenges. But in the midst of those challenges, we can learn to see the good. I firmly believe that every experience — whether painful or joyful — carries a purpose. Our struggles, trials, and setbacks shape us. They make us stronger, wiser, and help build our character.
Maintaining a positive mindset is essential — but that doesn’t mean you can’t cry, vent, or express how you feel. Too often, people see tears as weakness. I see them as courage. It takes strength to admit when you’re hurting, when you feel alone, or when sadness weighs heavy.
When we acknowledge our emotions, we open the door to healing. There’s a misconception that holding everything in is a sign of strength. In reality, it’s a recipe for pressure and burnout — like a pot waiting to boil over. We all have limits.
So release it — the stress, the pain, the tears. And when you do, lift your head high. Be proud of your strength, honor your growth, and begin to see yourself beyond your current struggle. You have so much to offer. You are gifted, talented, and filled with purpose.
Too often, holding everything inside blinds us from the beauty within us. We must learn to see ourselves not through the lens of pain, but through the eyes of God.
Embrace who you are — through God’s eyes.
I invite you to read my book: Embracing Who We Are Through God's Eyes
